Prime inc. Recognizes 3 Million Mile Achievements
Prime recently recognized two of its drivers for reaching 3 million miles of safe driving for the company. This achievement takes drivers years of hard work, attention to detail and a commitment to professionalism on the road.
“It is a true honor for us to recognize Jeffrey Ayers and John Valentine for achieving 3 million miles of driving without a preventable accident,” said Don Lacy, Prime inc. director of safety. “At Prime, we’re pleased to be their partners and to support their safe, professional work. Congratulations to both of them for their achievement.”
Valentine, who has been with Prime for 23 years, credits much of his accomplishment to Prime’s driver training program. This ongoing program includes online training and DVD resources with driver instructional videos, safety tips and advice for running a successful business. The company also updates its drivers with the latest safety news, said Valentine, making it clear that safety is its number one priority.
“You always have to have the big picture and pay attention to the things going on around you,” said Ayers, who started working for Prime in 1990. “Drive for everyone else and anticipate what they may do.”
Both drivers received a check for $5,000, a 3-million-mile leather jacket, a decal for his truck, lapel pin and a jacket patch. Ayers and Valentine also received a plaque with their name and likeness on Prime’s Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mo.
