SOUTHERN CAL TRANSPORT ANNOUNCES PAY INCREASE

July 16, 2010

Southern Cal Transport is excited to announce that, effective August 1st, 2010, we are increasing Haz-mat qualified, over-the-road team driver pay by one cent per mile, per driver (two cents to the team)!

This increase restores driver pay to pre-recession levels. Southern Cal Transport President Phil DeSimone is pleased that economic conditions have improved enough to make the increase possible. “A short time ago, we had to make a painful business decision to reduce pay…when that happened, we promised our drivers that we would increase their pay as quickly as freight rates would support it. This new pay increase is more than just a raise; it is a promise kept to our drivers,” explains Phil.

Company founder and CEO Ken Adams expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Southern Cal drivers for their continued loyalty and dedication, stating, “We are blessed with a great team of dedicated drivers. We greatly appreciate the patience they showed as we navigated the difficult economic conditions of the past two years.”

Cliff Abbott, Director of Driver Development, is thrilled about the new driver pay. Cliff excitedly says, “With teams averaging over 5,000 miles per week and a length of haul over 1,500 miles per load, this increase really adds to their earning power! Our $1,000 sign-on bonus makes it even easier for teams to make the move to Southern Cal. And, as economic conditions continue to improve, we are optimistic that there could be another pay increase in the near future!”

GREAT miles, GREAT pay, and a GREAT place to work….it all adds up to more at Southern Cal Transport!!
